June 30, 2012  Day 50                                 Total miles to date  989.81

Today is Saturday and we walked along the row of restaurants and found one serving breakfast.  After breakfast we were happy to see a farmer’s market (Marche’) set up, and several booths later we emerged with fresh vegetables, fruit, a strawberry crisp dessert, and a small piece of pottery. The lady who was selling her pottery told me sold some pottery to someone on the Loop last week who was from Florida.  We also went to a Marine store and bought a few things for the boat – including new cleaner for the isinglass.

We went back to the boat, and did get the windows on the sundeck and flybridge cleaned again! We also talked with several residents. They love to come to the lock wall and see the boats. Everyone has been incredibly friendly and loves to hear about our trip. They are very curious about our travels and life on the boat.  The lock wall has been jammed with people just out walking, and of course the wall itself is full of boats! This is a big holiday weekend for them.

By dinner time Raydiance had arrived and rafted to us for the evening since the wall was full. We had them over for dessert and had a nice visit.  Our Time also arrived with them but decided to go on through the lock at Ste. Anne and anchor out since it was so crowded.

By late Saturday many boats had rafted together!
