July 3, 2012  Day 53                                    Total miles to date  1068.3

Just as we left our anchorage at 9am across from the town of Rockland, we saw Our Time behind us. They had left their anchorage much earlier. We had called the Kitchissipi Marina de Gateneau near Ottawa (off Ile de Kettle) that we were happy to find in the new Canadian Guidebook we purchased in Ste. Anne.  This marina was not mentioned in our other books and we were happy they had room for both of us!  They are very friendly and we liked their $1.50/ft. price compared to some others.  Can you believe this marina just got wifi yesterday – they saw Joyce coming J!
After we got settled, Sarah and Joyce walked into town to the grocery store and made the necessary (and probably some not necessary) purchases. The rest of the afternoon was spent doing laundry (Joyce) and patching the leak in the dinghy (Bill).  Joyce also spent time updating the blog.

Bill walked over to a Little League baseball game next to the marina before dinner.  Our beautiful sunny day turned to a light shower this afternoon, but the game goes on. Brings back memories!

Tomorrow we will make the short trip (less than 3 miles) into Ottawa and spend at least two days there.  We will leave the province of Quebec (just when we were learning a few French words) and we will enter Ontario.

We wish all of you a Happy Fourth of July as you celebrate tomorrow!

We had to time it just right to pass these ferries on the
Ottawa River today - let's just say Bill increased the rpm!
