The winding Rideau Canal
leaving Ottawa
Today was a travel day as we left Ottawa at 8:45 with Odyssey to catch the Pretoria Street bridge opening at 9:00.

We lowered our antennas to 20’ 6” to be able to go under fixed bridges listed at 22 feet.  This was a busy day of going through 8 locks. Some of them were grouped together in flights of two or three.  We are on the Rideau Canal – which is narrow and at times, very shallow. Many homes dot the shoreline.

We arrived at Hurst Marina in Manotick, Ontario at 2:00. We spent the afternoon doing boat chores. We had a light dinner and invited Sally and Greg over afterwards for a dessert wine.

This is a short posting tonight after a hot and busy day. We will travel to Merrickville tomorrow and stay on a lock wall.
