September 16, 2013 Day 117  Penobscot Bay
Trident Yacht Basin
Rockland, Maine

The clouds were forming over the harbor
early this morning
In yesterday’s blog, we said it would be hard not to stay longer than two days in Rockland– and that is right! So, we are staying three days.  We did some sightseeing today but there are more things to see in this area.  We had some light showers today but we stayed out most of the day.

We used the marina’s courtesy car this morning and ran errands to a grocery store, NAPA, and Walmart and took Lisa with us.  After lunch we went downtown and toured the Farnsworth Museum, a multi-story art museum with many paintings of Andrew Wyeth and Edward Hopper among others.  Across from it is the NC Wyeth museum. We thoroughly enjoyed the works of art!  We went into a few gift shops before returning to the boat.

We had dinner on board and relaxed for the evening. Tomorrow we will borrow the courtesy car again and drive to the towns of Rockport and Camden. They are both nearby so we did not stop there by boat.  There are no ends of places to visit!

The harbor has many boats on mooring balls and another smaller cruise ship came into port for a few hours. Rockland is a busy port although many boats are being pulled out of the water each day and put into winter storage.  We did not get more photos today because of the weather, but tomorrow promises to be a sunny day.
