December 5, 2015  Day 13 South for the Winter 2015-16

Downtown Marina
Beaufort, SC

Such a full day!  We left our quiet anchorage just before eight and cruised for five hours to the Downtown Marina in Beaufort.  We made excellent time!!  We were at low tide much of the way and had to watch the water levels frequently.

As soon as we got docked we walked through the downtown park area on the waterfront and visited the Shrimp Festival. Then we walked through many of the shops.  Beaufort is celebrating all weekend! We had ringside seats on our fly bridge tonight for the Lighted Boat Parade. There were 19 boats of all shapes and sizes that were well decorated and with creative lighting! They came past the harbor twice.

We are staying here three nights and look forward to the arrival of our Looper friends, Bob and Janet tomorrow. They keep their boat here and are driving down by car for a few days.
